Repertoire

The vocal music sung by Eyehall Musick centres round madrigals, both English and Italian, part songs from various periods
and modern works  and arrangements of popular classics. As well as pieces from the standard repertoire we have given first performances of  works by local composers, including Maurice Hodges'and Evan Turner, and the British premiere of Ivan Moody's 'John in the Desert' for voices and viols.
Our concert programmes usually include works across the range from C16th madrigals and tudor anthems, with modern 'classical' pieces and finishing with arrangements of popular songs. Concerts usually include poetry readings, usually with the Horningsea Mecahnicals, or instrumental music.

The instrumental works performed include recorder trios and quartets, and works with flute, keyboard and 'cello. Recorder Trio performances have included  Byrd, Purcell and Hindemith. In 2003 we gave the world premiere of Maurice Hodges'  'Fantasia on the Little Black Rose' for recorder quartet, and have also performed his Irish Dances for this combination.
We have performed works for soprano, alto recorder and continuo by Handel  and also works by Purcell, and will continue to explore this medium. We have also performed madrigals by Gesualdo in conjunction with the viol group  La Dolce Gamba, as well as Orlando Gibbons'  ''The Cries of London'  and pieces by Ivan Moody.
